23.8.10Help. One word that has been abused over and over again, by people like us. Us. Kids. Teenagers. Adults. Even the elderly. Humans. The term "help" does not imply that the opposition has to do everything. And yet that happens to be the case. Increasingly, its the helping party doing most of the work(and usually the hardest work, too). I'm not saying that every single case is like that. I am saying that cases like that are becoming more and more rampant among our generation. Why? There are several possible reasons. Imagine you're the classmate of a friend, and he or she is doing duty after school. That friend then walks up to you to ask him/her to help sweep the floor. Since you have nothing to do you accept the task. And this friend of yours end up lazing about, chatting to other classmates while you toil and sweat about, cleaning the classroom's dusty floors. Being a friend, what can you do about it? Pick a fight? Cut off all contact with each other? All of that, over a matter of cleaning the floor? Of course not, that will be an incredibly unreasonable(not to mention stupid) thing to do. At most you'll just complain a little and swallow your anger. Humans are prone to take things for granted. They won't appreciate you for doing small things like that for them. This type of thing may not just happen once, too. One man's behaviour may affect another. See a classmate copying homework and the rest will follow like lemmings junping off a cliff. Similiarily, see someone else abusing the help of others and the rest jump to it. Their subconscience pushes away the inevitable guilt by telling themselves that they're not the only "abusers". Help is not turning those around us into personal slaves(although you may as well turn younger siblings into them), but rather a plea to family and friends when you need assistance. They are not supposed to do everything for you, either - the bulk of the work still belongs to you. Help is a gift, one that we must appreciate, remember, and return. It is a symbol, That we are not walking our paths alone.
